I don"t know exactly how accurate her information is, however she has a the majority of it, and covers a lot of of different subjects.

The page the link goes to has an excerpt of few of Ibn Fadlan"s observances of the Rus funeral customs. I found it if trying to number out whether the Valhalla Prayer in the movie "The 13th Warrior" was based in history, or if Michael Crichton just made it up. It appears that Crichton had it pretty close in the book, however the wording was readjusted for the film.

Like ns said, i don"t know just how accurate she is, and I didn"t check out her actual name anywhere, but she says she"s to be doing this due to the fact that 1990, and also this was at the bottom of the home-page...

"The Viking answer Lady was favored as best "Vikings" site on the net in the April 2000 worry of the net, the UK"s biggest Internet magazine."

Here"s the Prayer, Invocation, everything you desire to speak to it, because that those the haven"t watched The 13th Warrior.

As a next note, i really prefer Dennis Storhøi, it"s a dead they don"t use him in an ext movies over right here like they carry out Stellan Skarsgård. Skarsgård is most likely my favourite actor of modern-day times.

The prayer thingy in 13th Warrior is loosely taken indigenous what the sacrificed slave girl states after drinking psychoactive soup and also whilst gift lifted in a chair end a faux doorway, as according come the yes, really account through Fadlan. Soon thereafter every the males in the warrios band have actually sex through her, tell her it"s for love of your leader and then the old lady point of view of fatality strangles her and also stabs she while everyone beats shields to cover the noise. There"s some good stuff about lighting naked fires too.

There was never some Viking chant the everyone recited whilst fighting the matriarchal cannibal neanderthals though.

I was simply looking to see if there to be a historical precedence for it, or if the was fully fictitious.
